Dental Bonding
What is Dental Bonding?
Bonding is a cosmetic procedure that can help perfect and enhance your natural smile. Dr. Angelica Seto uses composite resin to perfectly match the color of your bonding with your teeth. Bonding can last for about 10 years or longer without the need for special care or treatment. Dental bonding is best suited for patients with chipped, cracked or spaced front teeth.
Why Is Dental Bonding needed?
If you’ve recently chipped or broken a front tooth or if you have gaps between your teeth, you might feel badly about your smile. Rather than have more invasive work done, bonding is easy, quick and provides you with years of long-term results. In fact, most patients won’t even require local anesthetic to begin the bonding procedure. It’s ideal for patients of all ages and for virtually any of your front teeth.
Who is a candidate for Dental Bonding?
Dr. Seto can perform an exam to determine if you might benefit from dental bonding. Bonding is best suited to patients with otherwise healthy teeth and who are looking for a quick way to dramatically change the look of their smile. Because bonding lasts so long, it can become an integral part of your new smile. You will love how bonding looks and feels when professionally done in our office.
What happens during the Dental Bonding procedure?
First, we’ll sit you down in one of our rooms so that you’re comfortable and relaxed. Dr. Seto then files down any sharp edges or jagged areas of the tooth. The composite resin is matched to your smile and then placed over the area to be bonded. The material is carefully smoothed into place before being hardened with a bright curing light. This light helps to ensure the bonding is in place and will not move or shift. With care and regular hygiene, your new bonding can last for about 10 years and provide you with a full, beautiful-looking smile.
